Season's Greetings

Dear everybody,

This letter might come as a surprise to some, as we are not known to be loyal Season's Greetings writers. This year however is special, and we would like to share a few facts and tid-bits about our lives in Montreal.

2003 has been a great year for us, marking the arrival of our youngest, Nicolas. He was born on June 23rd, a 52cm and 3300gr bundle of joy. Thank you very much for all the beautiful toys, clothes, cards and warm wishes that you sent to welcome him into our world. He is enjoying every single toy, has outgrown some of the clothes and is anxious to start reading. Niek or Nico has grown tremendously and is doing great as his brothers are continuously stimulating him and introducing him to the secrets of life as perceived from a toddlers perspective.

Christopher and David are also doing great! They are going to the daycare Le Tournesol just minutes away from home, developing their skills and playing with their friends. They bring home all sorts of handicrafts every week, such as drawings, collages, paintings, etc They still look quite alike Marc has the hardest time telling them apart which leads to some quite funny situations where he will call one little fellow and the other will show up. Their characters on the other hand are very different. Christopher is more independent though shy, where David is very outgoing but clings much more to Chris. Together, they are a couple of little rascals, always active and discovering new games every day. They love their little baby brother very much, leaving no moment unused to show their affection.

Annabelle is working hard at her study. She enrolled in a PhD program in Industrial Psychology at the University de Montréal last year and, being the well organized person she is, she is able to cope with her study, the household and taking care of the boys when Marc is away at work.

Between all that she even finds time to take on a few occasional assignments from Dolmen, which is a local consulting firm in industrial psychology that she is building a professional relationship with.

She misses work though and the whole process is quite demanding on her and on her parents and sister who do help out a lot, for which we are very thankful. Annabelle has therefore decided to take it one step at a time and she will start her internships next summer, which should allow her to receive her masters degree late next year. Her PhD will have to wait a few years as her enrolment status allows her another eight years to complete it.

Marc still finds a lot of interest and challenges in his job as a Managing Consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. He has had the opportunity to work on several internal assignments, all SAP, which have allowed him to integrate rapidly and effectively into the local CGE&Y community. He has also been assigned to several client contracts, the latest being a contract at Cirque du Soleil, which has brought him back to The Netherlands twice this year. This was a nice coincidence as it allowed him to see friends and relatives, people he naturally misses in Canada.

And so, as days pass by we are getting close to 2004, a great occasion to extend are best wishes to you and your loved ones for this Holiday Season.
